GitHub on the Map

Overview

When you submit a GitHub pull request, it shows up right next to your office on the map for the reviewer to view and access. You will see all your own outstanding PRs on the map and can click on them for a preview and direct link to GitHub.

Before our own internal use of GitHub on the Map, our Head of Engineering’s personal median time until first comment was 91 minutes. Since we began using GitHub on the Map, it’s dropped to 58 minutes. That’s 36% sooner. Best of all, in our experience there’s way more culture and flow within our engineering work now.

Instructions

To enable this feature, a Roam Admin who is also GitHub admin will first need to link the organization account in Roam Administration > Linked Accounts > GitHub.

Each individual contributor will also need to link their individual GitHub account in Settings > Linked Accounts > GitHub.
